Imagine the rolling hills of a Scottish moor, alive with the soft hum of heather swaying in the wind – this 3D model captures that wild, untamed spirit. With its fine, needle-like leaves and clusters of tiny, lavender-pink flowers, this heather bush adds a touch of nature’s resilience to your digital worlds. Whether you’re crafting a survival game’s wilderness, a serene landscape for architectural renders, or a dynamic VFX backdrop, it fits right in.
I’ve kept the mesh lean and efficient, optimised for real-time performance without sacrificing the bush’s natural shape. Kept it as low poly as possible to keep it believable. The textures were created and tested initially for use in CryEngine with a Spec/Gloss workflow, however I used it in Blender easily. Metallic/Roughness maps for broader compatibility across other game engines and 3D software.
They’re resolution-balanced for smooth scaling – crisp up close, yet gentle on performance at a distance. I rendered previews in Blender’s Eevee with a moody HDRI to mimic dawn over the moors, but it’ll adapt to sunny fields or misty forests just as well.
Use it solo to detail a rocky outcrop, scatter it across a terrain for immersive ground cover, or pair it with other flora for a rich, natural scene or game environment. This asset brings that authentic, earthy vibe to life, perfect for anyone building detailed virtual ecosystems i.e. moors, Scandinavian forest, European undergrowth or North America wilderness foliage.
